Flourishing Lakes, Wildlife and Community Action in Melbourne's outer West
This project is establishing local native vegetation around the Cairnlea-Iramoo lake system in outer Western Melbourne, to provide habitat for numerous water birds, provide habitat linkages with existing high quality vegetation and engage regional residents in plans and actions to highlight waterway values and improve residential catchment care.
Lakes @ Iramoo: Birdlife
Jones Creek Wetlands are situated between Iramoo Sustainable Community Centre and Iramoo Wildlife Park.
The Iramoo Lakes and Wetlands system was established in 2005 and are alive with birds and fish.
With successful funding from Melbourne Water Community Grant program and support from Brimbank City Council the revegetation works were commenced on Saturday 28th June 2008.
